Sting, originally known as Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, was born on October 2, 1951, in Wallsend, Northumberland, England. He is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and actor, best known as the lead singer of the band, The Police, and for his solo career. Sting has won 16 Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, a Golden Globe, an Emmy Award, and several other awards in his illustrious music career.
Sting formed the band, The Police, in 1977, along with drummer Stewart Copeland and guitarist Henry Padovani. The band's first single, "Fall Out," was released in May 1977, and their debut album, "Outlandos d'Amour," was released in November 1978. The tour, which starts in April and ends in September 2023, will see the musician perform in North America, Europe, and Australia.
