Static X's History

Static X was a popular American industrial metal band that was formed in 1994, in Los Angeles, California. The band was known for its signature sound that was a mix of heavy metal, industrial and techno music. Wayne Static, the band's founder and lead vocalist, was the driving force behind its unique sound and creative vision.

Static X was initially known as "Deep Blue Dream," but the band changed its name to Static X in 1996. The band's original lineup consisted of Wayne Static, Ken Jay on drums, and Tony Campos on bass. The band's debut album, "Wisconsin Death Trip," was released in 1999 and was a commercial success. The album's hit single, "Push It," became a fan favorite and is still one of the band's most popular songs to this day.

Static X went on to release six studio albums, four of which reached the top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart. The band's musical style evolved over the years, with each new album showcasing a different facet of their sound. Despite this evolution, the band's music remained true to its roots, with heavy beats, distorted guitars, and Wayne Static's unique vocals.

The band was known for its energetic live performances and was a popular act on the concert circuit. Static X was a regular feature at music festivals such as Ozzfest and was a crowd-puller wherever they performed. Their fans, who were known as "Evil Disciples," were fiercely loyal and would turn up in droves to watch the band perform.

Static X was also a popular band in the underground music scene, with many of their songs featuring on soundtracks for movies, video games and television shows. The band's music was often used in action and horror films, which helped to expand their fan base even further.

Over the years, Static X underwent several lineup changes, with Wayne Static being the only constant member of the band. Unfortunately, Wayne Static passed away in 2014 at the age of 48, leaving behind a legacy of great music and memorable live performances.

Despite Wayne's passing, Static X continued to tour and perform with a new lead singer, Xer0, who was chosen by the surviving members of the band. The new lineup continued to play the band's classic hits and also released a new album in 2019, titled "Project Regeneration Vol. 1." The album featured unreleased tracks from Wayne Static, which were completed by the surviving members of Static X after his death.

Static X's music has stood the test of time and continues to be popular with fans of industrial metal and heavy music. The band's live performances were always a highlight and were known for their energy, intensity, and showmanship. Fans who were lucky enough to attend a Static X concert were treated to an unforgettable experience that was both emotionally and musically charged.

If you're a fan of industrial metal and heavy music, then catching a Static X concert is a must. Tickets for their shows are always in high demand, so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment. Despite the tragic loss of Wayne Static, Static X's music and legacy live on, and their concerts are a fitting tribute to a great band and a talented artist.
